Volta E-Bike & E-Scooter Warranty Policy
At Volta, we stand behind the quality and reliability of our electric bikes and scooters. All Volta e-bikes and e-scooters are backed by a 12-month warranty covering key electronic and mechanical components, subject to the conditions below.
Warranty Coverage
The warranty covers manufacturing defects on the following components:
- Battery
- Motor
- Controller
- Display
- Wheels
- Suspension
Battery Maintenance Requirement
To maintain warranty coverage for your battery:
- Batteries must be charged to 100% and used/recharged at least once per month.
- Failure to follow proper charging care may cause irreversible battery damage.
- Damage caused by dormancy, neglect, or improper care is not covered.
Warranty Conditions
Required Maintenance Check
- A general maintenance check must be carried out by a qualified technician within the first 6 months or 500km of use (whichever comes first).
- Failure to provide a valid service record will void any warranty claims.
Warranty Transferability
- The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
- Claims cannot be transferred between owners.
Wear & Tear Exclusions
Normal wear-and-tear items are not covered under warranty. These include:
- Tyres, tubes, and valves
- Brake pads, gear cables, brake cables
- Chains, lubricants, oils
- Spokes, derailleur hangers
- Bearings, headset, bottom brackets
- Paint finish, corrosion, or rust
Volta may, at its discretion, provide support on these items within the first 3 months of purchase.
Inspection on Delivery
- All products are inspected before dispatch.
- Customers should inspect goods upon delivery and notify us immediately of any damage.
- If packaging appears damaged on arrival:
- Request written confirmation of damage from the delivery driver.
- Retain the packaging and contact us with photos as soon as possible.
Exclusions
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Accidents, misuse, or neglect
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Water or liquid damage
- Commercial, rental, or stunt use
- Use of unapproved parts or tools
- Continuing to use the product after a fault has developed
Fault Reporting Requirement
- If a fault occurs, it must be reported immediately.
- Continued use that leads to further damage voids warranty coverage.
- Only the initial fault will be assessed and repaired under warranty.
Repair Process & Service Centres
- After lodging a claim, Volta will advise the nearest authorized service partner.
- If no local partner is available, Volta will issue a return label for assessment.
- If approved, repairs and return shipping are covered by Volta.
- If the issue is not warranty-related, the customer is responsible for all associated costs.
Consumer Law Notice
Our warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which guarantees that goods are:
- Fit for purpose
- Safe, durable, and defect-free
- As described and acceptable in appearance
Warranty Start Date
- Warranty coverage begins from the date of purchase.
- If delivery is delayed by more than 10 days, we may extend the start date by up to 2 weeks.
